Shirley N. Hansford

Shirley N. Hansford died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.

Born in Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Hansford had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She owned and operated Tingleville Store for 17 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Vinson; and a brother, James Vinson.

Survivors include four sons, Ken Hansford of Vicksburg, Glen Hansford of Edwards, Michael Hansford of Charleston, S.C., and James Hansford of Tennessee; one brother, Claude “Buster” Vinson of Vicksburg; six sisters, Jessie Vinson, Sandra Kelly and Evelyn Anderson, all of Vicksburg, Sally Selman of Crystal Springs, Elizabeth Kyzar of Clinton and Ruby Davis of Forest; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethesda Cemetery in Hinds County with the Rev. E.L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hampton, Johnny Anderson, Mitch Bullard, Terry Davis, Brian Anderson and Joe Friley. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenny Cole.
