Maxine Monsour

SHREVEPORT, La. — Maxine Monsour died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Pierremont Healthcare Center. She was 84.

Mrs. Monsour was a lifelong resident of Shreveport and a longtime member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. She graduated from Fair Park High School and attended Centenary College before working for United Gas, Atlas Processing for 35 years. She also worked for the Berry Patch Florist and Mulvihill Tours and volunteered for the Strand Theater and Shreveport Symphony.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Willie Monsour, formerly of Vicksburg; and three brothers, “Bay” Monsour, Dr. W. Michael Monsour Jr. and Capt. Edward Monsour.

Survivors include her brother, Dr. Victor Monsour of Lake Charles, La.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport with the Revs. Bill McBride and Ben Songy of St. Matthias Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery, followed by a reception at noon at St. Matthias Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 4 until 6:30 tonight at the funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Monsour, Vaughn Moise, Tom Craig and Chad Presley.
