A crowd of 1,100 watched Vicksburg continue its dominance of Warren Central in boys basketball.

Vicksburg (7-2) won its Division 4-6A opener with ease, 76-55, as Willie Gibbs dropped in six 3-pointers and the Gators ruled the backboards, outrebounding the Vikings 43-25. The victory marked the 11th straight win for the Gators over the Vikings.

Vicksburg coach Dellie C. Robinson said his team was ready.

“No question about it,” Robinson said. “It’s Warren Central, and our kids were ready. (Josh) Gaskin gave us a lot of energy on the boards and people should know, by now, that Willie Gibbs is our best shooter.”
