The engagement of Lakendra L. Hulbert to Charlos K. Clark, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 3 p.m. Feb. 26, 2010, at New Mount Elem M.B. Church, 3014 Wisconsin Ave. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Hulbert is the daughter of Hazel Hulbert and Johnny Hulbert of Port Gibson. She is the granddaughter of the late Hattie Hulbert, the late James Hulbert Sr., Luella Johnson of Hermanville, the late Andrew Johnson and the late Addie Speed.

Mr. Clark is the son of Charles and Bettye Clark of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Lottie Clark of Utica and the late Malachi and Laura Turner of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Port Gibson High School, where she was a member of Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society.

She received a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Alcorn State University.

The prospective groom is a 1993 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He attended Hinds Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he studied political science.
