One night after being called out by coach Dellie C. Robinson for a subpar game against Meridian, Mychal Ammons bounced back with 28 points to lead the Gators (9-3) past Clarksdale.

Clarksdale (6-7) pulled to within 35-32 after a 3-pointer by Joshua Windham a minute into the third quarter, but the Gators countered with an 11-0 run fueled by two baskets each from Ammons and Josh Gaskin to go in front, 46-32. The Gators owned a 55-40 lead after three quarters.

Two massive dunks by Gaskin closed out the Wildcats in the final quarter.
