Five neighbors, all residents of Overlook Drive, were jailed Friday in a Halls Ferry Road home burglary, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said, and more charges were possible.
Gerald Young, 19, and Kameron Johnathan Lamb, 17, both of 110 Overlook, were arrested around noon Thursday after investigators found property reported stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Halls Ferry, less than a mile from Overlook Drive, Pace said. From there, other search warrants were issued that led to three more arrests.
Gregory DeWayne Mason, 19, and William A. Taylor, 21, both of 300 Overlook, and Everette T. Scott Jr., 18, of 214 Overlook, were arrested around 11 p.m. Thursday after searches of their homes.
Young, who is free on bond in a Dec. 7 city arrest for receiving stolen property, was charged with burglary and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. Lamb is charged with two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. Prescription drugs, a 22-caliber revolver and a 357-caliber semi-automatic pistol were found at their home, Pace said.
Scott was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and Mason and Taylor were charged with burglary, grand larceny and possession of a stolen firearm.
An ounce of marijuana, a digital scale, laptop, desktop computer, 9 mm handgun, 380-caliber gun, camcorder and jewelry were found at Scott’s home, Pace said. Scott’s charges could be upgraded to burglary, the sheriff said.
Found at Mason and Taylor’s home, Pace said, were two rifles, a pistol, coins, a desktop computer, two laptop computers, a camcorder, camera, liquor, ammunition and prescription drugs.
Pace said the items investigators found could clear up burglaries reported in the Greenbriar subdivision, which is sandwiched between Halls Ferry and Gibson roads, in the southern part of Warren County. The subdivision is comprised of Overlook, Greenbriar and High Hill drives.
“We are working to identify pieces of property to other burglaries,” the sheriff said.
The five suspects were being held without bond. Initial court appearances were set for Tuesday.
