Laird, Leger are wed at St. Paul Catholic

Marcus Lawrence Leger and Jenna Marie Laird were married at 2 p.m. Nov. 6, 2010, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg. The Rev. Ferrelous D’ Cruz officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Laird of Tallulah. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Laird of Tallulah and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Geary Jr. of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lecaster Leger of Crowley, La. He is the grandson of Lydia Bull and the late Charles Bull Sr. of Welsh, La., and Mary Leen Leger and the late Norris Leger of Morse, La.

Nuptial music was presented by Karen Harrison, organist; Larry Gawronski, cantor; and Riley Harper, soloist. The bride was escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Suzanne Laird, sister of the bride, of Winnsboro. Matron of honor was Amanda Kelly Stein of Zachary.

Junior bridesmaids were Nouria Koury of Rayne and Irena Weaver of Lake Charles, both nieces of the groom.

The groom’s niece, Abbigail Koury of Rayne, served as flower girl.

Lucas Simon of Iota served as best man. Groomsmen were Robbie Broussard of Estherwood and Hunter Buchert of Beaumont, Texas.

Ushers were Reece Meyer, nephew and godson of the groom, and Clay Pierce, cousin of the bride.

Hayden Meyer, nephew of the groom, assisted as altar server.

Scripture readers were Leo Singleton III, godfather of the groom, of Slidell; Matthew Christie of Houston, Texas; and Phoebe Bull, godmother of the groom, of Welsh.

Presenting the gifts were Lauren and Alise Newman, cousins of the bride, of Dallas, Texas.

Special wedding assistant was Shirley Riddle. Casey Simon of Iota served as the bride’s proxy.

Programs were distributed by Emma and Meredith Roberts, cousins of the bride, of Grand Cane.

A reception followed the ceremony at the B’nai B’rith Club. The bride’s cake was served by Ann Kukor, great-aunt of the bride.

The couple will make their home in Shreveport, where they are working as independent consultants in the oil and gas industry. A wedding trip to Hawaii is planned this year.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Bazsinsky House.

Luncheon

The bride and her attendants enjoyed a bridal luncheon at Anchuca Mansion the day before the wedding.

Showers

Amanda Stein, Suzanne Laird and Erica Hamill hosted a getaway weekend for the bride in Orange Beach, Ala.

Family of the groom hosted a miscellaneous shower for the bride in Welsh at the home of Laura Bull and Lydia Bull.

Amanda Stein and Erica Hamill honored the bride with a shower in Tallulah.
