YAZOO CITY — William T. Martin Sr. died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at his home. He was 73.

Mr. Martin was retired from Canadian National Railroad and was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Ann Norwood Martin; and his parents, John W. Martin and Frances Virginia Neely.

Survivors include his son, William T. Martin Jr. of Pelahatchie; two sisters, Marilyn “J.B.” Lewis of Yazoo City and Margaret “Viven” Douglas of Bentonia; and two grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Hutto officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Malone and Clifford Martin.
