PORT GIBSON — Oscar Thomas Jr. died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 58.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mary Liza Thomas.

He is survived by five sisters, Ella Thomas-Jones, Shirley Reed and Barbara Thomas, all of Port Gibson, and Sadie Thomas and Connie Thomas, both of Indianapolis; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ashland Baptist Church with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 this afternoon at the funeral home and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
