Alice Clements Wade

GRACE — Alice Clements Wade died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at her home in Grace. She was 88.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Wade was reared in Rolling Fork and had lived in Grace for the past 69 years. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics and science from Mississippi State College for Women.

She worked for Synthetic Rubber Plant in Goose Creek, Texas, during World War II and she was also a substitute teacher and homemaker. She was a member of Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Rolling Fork.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rife Wade Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Wade Murray of Grace; a son, James R. Wade Jr. of Grace; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ed Lundin officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be John Hodnett, Drick Rodgers, Thad Virden, Dan Branton, Harry Branton, James Hamlin, Charles Weissinger and Ward Clements.
