A Vicksburg child was flown to a Jackson hospital Saturday evening after a wreck on U.S. 61 South that also injured another child.
Ke’Darius Rader, 7, 251 Demby Drive, was taken to University Medical Center after the wreck, reported at 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of the four-lane highway and Demby Drive, Vicksburg police said. A second child, identified by Sgt. Sandra Williams as Thomas Pendleton, 9, of the same address, was taken to River Region Medical Center, where a spokesman said he was treated and released.
Ke’Darius’ condition was not available Saturday night.
Patrolman Greg Kurtz said the wreck occurred as a vehicle driven by Carolyn Andrews Rader, 37, also of 251 Demby Drive, who was southbound on the highway and attempting to turn left onto Demby Drive, collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Gerrick Barber, no age and street address available, Port Gibson.
Both children were in Rader’s car.
