Collene C. Avery died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.

Born in Heidelberg, Miss., Mrs. Avery was the daughter of the late Olin Carter and Louise Gillespie Carter. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1990. She was a graduate of Purvis High School and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Mrs. Avery was employed by HMI Buying Group as an accounts payable representative.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Avery of Vicksburg; four sisters, Doris Carpenter and Gayle Boone, both of Baton Rouge, Wanda Williams of Delhi, La., and Carol Fretwell of Laurel; and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service.
