Lemoyne Davis died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 64.

Mr. Davis graduated from Rosa. A. Temple High School in 1964 and attended Utica Junior College. He was a retired plumber from Waterways Experiment Station and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a military policeman during the Vietnam War. He also served in Germany for three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Willie Mae Davis; his maternal grandparents, Simon Sr. and Gussie Kemp; and his paternal grandparents, Jake and Mary Davis.

Survivors include a son, LaBrone Chiplin of Vicksburg; a brother, Harold Leon Davis of San Francisco; three sisters, Margaret Davis of Cleveland, Ohio, Edna Earl Lee of New Orleans and Mary E. Rooks of Vicksburg; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
