Flashes set for unlikely playoff run

One of the oddities of high school sports in Mississippi is that, to reach the postseason, you only have to win one or two games — if they’re the right one or two.
The St. Aloysius Flashes did just that, and aren’t about to apologize for it.
St. Al will open an unlikely playoff run Tuesday night at Forest in a first-round Class 1A-2A-3A game. St. Al got to this point by beating division rival Greenville-St. Joe last week and coming out ahead in a series of tiebreakers — all despite going just 2-10 in the regular season.
“We knew the games we had to win to get in, and we won them,” St. Al forward Blake Hudson said.
