Mrs. Dorothy Lee Hutson Williams, a resident of Irene Street, passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Mrs. Williams was retired from GNB Battery and Mississippi Action for Progress (MAP). She was a member of the Triumphant Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess of the church.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her father, John Arthur “Jack” Hutson; and mother, Mrs. Georgie Lee Bailey-Hutson.

She is survived by her husband, Adolph Williams of Vicksburg; her two sons, Adolph Lawrence Williams of Jackson, Miss., and Dwayne Vondell Williams of Vicksburg; her daughter, Santa Williams Carpenter of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and a host of cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Kings Empowerment Center (Kings Gym) with the Rev. Dexter Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.
