TOO MANY CATS, DOGS ‘Little Fix Rig’ to spay, neuter for low-income

Feeding the neighbor’s cats can get out of control, something a Watkins Road man has learned the hard way.
James Williams, 75, who has a soft spot for wide-eyed fluffy animals, has no regrets, however.
Williams began giving food to three cats a neighbor left behind when she moved a number of years ago. The cats had not been spayed or neutered and began having litters of kittens.
Now Williams has between 60 and 120 cats on his property. They bask in the sunlit windows of old vehicles around the property, scamper underneath the home when strangers approach and come running when Williams steps from his back door with bowls of kitty chow.
“I hate anything to come around me and I can’t feed them, so I started feeding them,” said Williams, 75. “When they look at you so pitiful, you just have to feed them.”
Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society director Georgia Lynn said Williams has taken good care of the felines but needs help.
