James Leonard Bosley

James Leonard “Jimmy” “Jim” Bosley died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 96.

Mr. Bosley was a graduate of Magnolia School and a longtime employee of O’Neill-McNamara Hardware. He played trumpet and occasional bass for the Red Tops band.

He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church, where he played baritone as part of the music ministry.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Allie Bosley; his wife of 70 years, Dellora A. Bosley; a sister, Lillie L. Lawyer; a brother, Johnny L. Bosley; and one daughter, Melba Jean Powell.

Survivors include a daughter, Perez Gaines; a son, James M. Bosley; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
