Recipients of the Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club’s annual awards hold plaques they received at a banquet Wednesday night. Vicksburg police investigator Tommy Curtis, from left, is Officer of the Year; Mario Grady is Sheriff’s Deputy of the Year; Michael Walker is Firefighter-Paramedic of the Year; and VPD officer Wesley Miller received the Heroism Award. VHBC, which also conducts a yearly scholarship banquet for students, began the officer awards program in the early 1980s.
