URBANA, Ill. — Vera M. Parsons, formerly of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Ill. She was 76.

Mrs. Parsons was a retired data processing supervisor for the Sears Roebuck Corporation. She was a member of the Church of the Living God of Champaign, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Bloomer and Edna London; two brothers, Leon Ruffin and Melvin London; and a sister, Deloris Walker.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory Johnson of Danville, Ill., and Charlie Johnson of Chicago; two daughters, Elise Parsons of Urbana and Edna Duncan of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Fred Ruffin of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mildred King-Jordan and Edna Brown, both of Chicago; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
