The engagement of Lauren Marie Blount to Dr. Paul Frederic Dare, both of San Antonio, Texas, is announced today. The wedding will be at 6 p.m. April 16, 2011, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the home of the groom in Vicksburg.

Miss Blount is the daughter of Roy M. Blount of Monterey, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Tarver of Jonesville, La. She is the granddaughter of H.F. and Elli Vivian Blount of Monterey and B.C. and Helen Wilson of Jonesville.

Dr. Dare is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Paul Dare of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Robert Swigart of New Orleans and the late Myron Norton Dare and Myrtice Myrick Dare of Shreveport, La.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Monterey High School. She attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority, and the International Academy of Design and Technology in Nashville, Tenn.

Miss Blount is a visual merchandiser for Anthropologie Store in San Antonio.

The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and LSU-Shreveport Medical School.

Dr. Dare is a third-year resident in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
