A city sewer line along U.S. 61 South, near the Vicksburg Municipal Airport, was damaged Saturday afternoon as an AT&T crew dug there.

The workers were installing 1,200 feet of cable about three feet underground.

A city sewer department crew was called to the scene. A worker there Saturday afternoon said plumbing would likely be affected from the 5000 to 6000 block of U.S. 61 South.

About 8 p.m., no city sewer workers were on the scene and no one from the department could be reached.

A receptionist with the city’s Action Line, where residents can call to report service problems, said no complaints of service disruption had been received from residents.
