PORT GIBSON — Elma Bourn died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 83.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Bourn; her son, Wilbert Bourn; and her parents, Willie and Sassie Dixon-Minor.

Survivors include her two sons, Sammy Bourn of Wayne, Mich. and Jessie Bourn of Port Gibson; two daughters, Nancy Bourn of Detroit and Karen Bourn of Port Gibson; a brother, Troy Dixon of Los Angeles; five sisters, Mattie Dampeer and Emma T. Walker, both of Pinola, Erleane Anderson of Los Angeles, Gerlean Williams of Adelanto, Calif., and Ula Stapleton of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Galilee Baptist Church in Rockport, Miss., with the Rev. Timothy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 at Thompson Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
