The Pilgrimage to Vicksburg Third annual Tapestry starts Friday

Tapestry: The Pilgrimage to Vicksburg begins Friday.

The third annual Tapestry, sponsored by the Vicksburg Bed and Breakfast Association and the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, allow the public to tour 16 of Vicksburg’s historic homes and buildings.

Formerly known as Pilgrimage, the program has been a Vicksburg tradition for more than 50 years.

Two new homes are included this year: the Blum-Levy Home at 1420 Cherry St., and the Craig-Flowers, or Great Hope Manor, at 2011 Cherry St.

Open for tours Friday will be the Cobb House, 1302 Adams St.; the Shlenker House, 2212 Cherry St.; the Corners Mansion Inn, 601 Klein St.; Annabelle, 501 Speed St.; and Cedar Grove Mansion Inn, 2200 Oak St.

A program unique to this year’s events is a bridal tea with the traditional delicacies of high tea. The tea will be at the George Washington Ball House at 4 p.m. Sunday. Local models will appear in vintage wedding gowns and accessories. The cost is $20.

Also special to this year will be walking tours through the historic district around Christ Episcopal Church on Main Street. Maggio Historic Tours begin at the church at 6 p.m. each Friday in April, except the 22nd, and every Saturday. Tickets are $15.
