EDWARDS — Services for Willie Mae Roper will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James M.B. Church in Edwards with the Rev. Bernard McKinley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Roper Sr.; her mother, Annie Lee Harris; her father, Elijah Solan; two sisters, Annie Robinson and Louise Harris; and a brother, Charlie Harris.

Survivors include her son, R.B. Roper Jr. of Jackson; three daughters, Sharon Roper of Utica, Alma Quinn of Edwards and Patricia West of Jackson; three brothers, Jessie Harris of Indiana, Sylvester Harris of Jackson, Willie Harris of Fort Worth, Texas and David Solan of California; two sisters, Louise Caston of Raymond and Lois Solan of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Roper died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Chadwick Nursing Home in Jackson. She was 69.

She was a member of St. James M.B. Church.
