Port Gibson counselor attains certification

A Port Gibson counselor has attained Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor status from the Association for Play Therapy.
S. Lynn Etheridge, has logged 150 hours of play therapy training, five years and 5,000 hours of post-master’s clinical experience and 1,000 hours of play therapy experience.
Play therapy aims to help patients, especially children, express their feelings.
Etheridge, who has practiced in Port Gibson for 10 years, is a graduate of Chamberlain-Hunt Academy and has a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Mississippi, as well as a graduate degree from Mississippi College. She pursuing a doctorate through Ole Miss.
The Association for Play Therapy, based in Clovis, Calif., was formed in 1982 and has nearly 6,000 members including social workers, psychologists, counselors and therapists.
