Vicksburg Child Abuse Prevention Center has events through April to bring awareness to child abuse.
The chapter is planning a Vision of Hope Assembly at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Bowmar Elementary School Auditorium, said CAP Center executive director Erma Driver.
“It is going to be a little on the somber side, people need to know abuse and neglect still exist,” Driver said.
Speakers will be Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield and state Rep. George Flaggs.
Blue Ribbons will serve as reminders of victims.
Other events will include a Rally Against Abuse at Bovina Elementary School at 12:15 p.m. April 20. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 the center will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Art Park at Catfish Row.
