Three separate shootings from cars were reported before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, and police do not believe they are related, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said this morning.

No injuries were reported.

Two men were jailed today in two of the shootings, both aimed at women pedestrians on Baldwin Ferry Road just after 8 Sunday.

Phillip L. Moore, 28, 1513 First North St., and Eric Wallace, 29, are accused of firing two shots from a 1995 Nissan Maxima where the women were walking near Eastview Apartments, Stewart said.

Each is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Moore, who was arrested at 8:37 a.m. at the apartments, was being held without bond, and Wallace, who was picked up at his home just after midnight today, was held on a $25,000 bond.

The other two shootings were both aimed at occupied dwellings, and they are not believed connected to the Baldwin Ferry shootings, Stewart said, because different weapons are believed to have been used.

The first report was at 6:18 a.m. in the 100 block of Riviera Boulevard. Eight shots were fired into a house in which three people were living.

In the second shooting, in the 100 block of Alcorn Drive just before 7 a.m., six shots were fired at a home and car parked in the driveway.

Residents could give no descriptions of the cars used or the occupants, Stewart said.
