The Warren County sheriff and a retired Vicksburg police sergeant will participate in the third annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event Wednesday at the Mississippi State Capitol.

Sheriff Martin Pace and Doug Arp will slip on women’s shoes to strut through downtown Jackson in an attempt to raise awareness and funds for sexual assault and rape victims.

The event is hosted by the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault and calls for male community members and leaders to show support for victims of rape and sexual assault by walking in high-heeled shoes.
