Services for Larry Donnell Heard will be at noon Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelvin Rankin officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the family being present from 6 until 7.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Celeste Priestly Heard; and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah C. Heard of Memphis; daughters, Wadena Heard, Celeste Catron and Lakesha Heard, all of Memphis; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Catron of Memphis; a son, Damien “Shawn” Heard of Vicksburg; four sisters, Frances Kay Bryant of Baltimore, Tami Heard of Las Vegas, Stephanie Heard of Detroit and Rochelle Heard of Vicksburg; six brothers, Carl Heard and Charles Heard, both of Vicksburg, Randy Heard and Andrew Heard, both of Detroit, Bryan Heard of Chicago and Todd Heard of Dallas; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the Bass, Newton, Tubwell, Priestly and Williams families.

Mr. Heard died Friday, April 15, 2011, at Covenant Health and Rehab. He was 55.

Mr. Heard attended Vicksburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Vicksburg Rubber Plant and the Mat Sinking Unit.
