Lea Donovan

Lea Donovan died Friday, April 22, 2011, at her home. She was 85.

Mrs. Donovan was a native of Oak Grove, La., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1954. She was a retired deputy chancery clerk, a position she held for more than 30 years. She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Donovan was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Wesley Donovan and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three sons, James E. Donovan of Columbus, John Verrant Donovan of Vicksburg and John Michael Donovan of Brandon; a daughter, Devona Dew of Pelahatchie; a brother, John Evans of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Verna Donovan of Vicksburg; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cary Stockett officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ben Dew, Cliff Dew, Robert Dew, Jay Evans and David Evans.
