Terry R. Gilbreath

Terry R. Gilbreath died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 64.
Born in Vicksburg, he was the son of the late Robert Harry Gilbreath and Faye Lucille Porter Gilbreath. He was a graduate of Jett High School and received his associate of science degree in drafting/design technology from Hinds Junior College.
He served in the Army from 1965 to 1971 as a helicopter pilot with the rank of chief warrant officer 2. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve 412 Engineer Command from 1972 to 1978, attaining the rank of chief warrant officer 3. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Service Star and two Bronze Service Stars, the Air Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Unit Citation with the Palm Device.
Mr. Gilbreath received the Purple Heart. He retired from Grand Gulf as an engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Silvia Gilbreath; three daughters, Monica Decker (Steven) of Meridian and Shellie Cummins (William) and Brandie Lee (David), both of Vicksburg; a son, Montgomery Hughley (Sara) of Pelahatchie; and 13 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Yokena Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.
