MADISON — Madison Central was in top form through the first three innings and rolled to a 12-2 win over Warren Central in the opening game of a first-round Class 6A series Friday evening at Liberty Park.
Pitcher Kelly Young combined with reliever Alexia Harmon to no-hit the Lady Vikes (13-12). The series will resume with Game 2 today at 11 a.m. at Lucy Young Field.
Warren Central coach Dana McGivney hopes her team can show more poise at the plate against Madison Central’s pitching and play better defense. The Lady Vikes committed four errors, including two in the bottom of the sixth, that allowed the Lady Jaguars to end the game by run rule.
