Johnson, Henderson are wed

Reginald Shavell Johnson Sr. and Tameka Denise Henderson were married at 2 p.m. April 22, 2011, at Unique Banquet Hall, 4226 Mississippi 27. The Rev. Manney Murphy officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bernice Murphy and Gerald Burks. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Jefferson and the great-granddaughter of Catherine Smith.
The groom is the son of Bertha Davenport.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Music was presented by Jannifer Banks, soloist, and C.J. Williams, pianist.
Matron of honor was Tamisa Huell-Smith of Vicksburg. Maid of honor was Roselyn Gray of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Monique McDaniel and Zita Funches, both of Vicksburg, and Kaila Virgil of Columbia.
Shay Ringo and Tony Ringo, both of Vicksburg, served as best men. Groomsmen were Christopher Johnson Sr., Dontaye Freeman and Marvin Freeman, all of Vicksburg.
Ushers were Reginald Shavell Johnson Jr., Herman Griffin and George Hatchett, all of Vicksburg.
Joshua Floyd served as ring bearer.
Escorted as guests of honor were Ruby Henderson, aunt of the bride, and Mary Bowman, aunt of the groom.
A reception followed the ceremony. Mistress of ceremonies was Lakesha Batty.
Special wedding and reception assistants were Nancy Butler and Carolyn Dent of Vicksburg and Lawanna Jackson, Artis Brown and Sonjia Kinsey, all of Tallulah.
Guests were entertained with music by DJ Reo.
Hostesses were Minnika Moore, Hollie Johnson, Victoria Jeanes, Carla Jones and Cynthia Bell, all of Vicksburg.
The bride is an assistant principal at Madison Middle School and is a doctoral student at Mississippi College. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
The groom is a machine operator at Anderson-Tully Co.
