Sandy Eugene Whitehead and Marla Jo Petersen-Miller, both of Vicksburg, were married at 5 p.m. April 22, 2011. Pastor Rick McAlister officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Beth Petersen of Glendale, Calif. The groom is the son of Shirley Whitehead of Vicksburg.

The bride was given in marriage by her granddaughter, Ayiana K.Z. Ayala, who also served as flower girl. The bride’s chosen colors were gold and lavender.

Matron of honor was Natalia Rae Dryden, daughter of the bride, of Vicksburg. The groom’s son, Steven John Whitehead of Vicksburg, served as best man.

A reception followed at Wilsonwood Lodge. Hostesses were Joyce Mulkey, sister of the groom, and Louisa Whitehead, sister-in-law of the groom.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg.
