Thelma Lazelle Jones Sessions

BATON ROUGE — Thelma Lazelle Jones Sessions, devoted and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, took the right hand of Jesus on May 6, 2011. She was a former resident of Vicksburg but was currently living at The Retirement Center in Baton Rouge. As a resident of the Retirement Center, she was active and engaged in church activities.

While in Vicksburg, she attended Highland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sessions; and her son, Sam Sessions.

She is survived by children, Larry Holley and wife Loraine of Gulf Shores, Ala., Tommy Sessions and wife Marcia of Montclaire, Va., David Sessions and wife Carolyn of Slidell, La., and Ramona “Mona” Sessions Mabile and her fiancé, Billy LaTour, of Napoleonville, La.; her grandchildren, Larry, Kent Heath, Paul, Tammy, Tabitha, Matthew, Kathryn, Callie, Sarah, Susan and Sophia; and her great-grandchildren, Sam, Larry III, Matthew, Samantha, Charles, Christopher, Lauren, Faith, Elizabeth and Charles Tad.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg with the Rev. Ernie Hall officiating. Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg from 11 a.m. Thursday until the hour of the service.
