Smith named VP of state association

Ninth Circuit Court District Attorney Ricky Smith has been elected vice president of the Mississippi Prosecutors Association.
He will serve for one year, then be in line for election as president of the 500-member nonprofit organization that provides support to prosecuting attorneys in the state. Smith, whose district includes Warren, Sharkey and Issaquena counties, is in his fourth year as Ninth Circuit district attorney and is running unopposed for a second term.
