News Update: A Vicksburg man this morning became the first person to die from the historic flooding of the Mississippi River in the city. Walter Cook, 69, was walking near flood waters at First East and North Washington Street Tuesday when he fell in, authorities say. He died at River Region Medical Center at 2:35 Thursday morning, Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said. Read more in today’s edition of The Vicksburg Post.
