A local man and woman were in the Warren County Jail Sunday after being arrested for two residential burglaries in the county Saturday, said Sheriff Martin Pace.

Justin Daniel Kirkley, 20, 40 Roy Young Road, and Ashley O’Connor, 33, a resident of the Dixiana Motel, 4041 Washington St., were being held without bond pending an initial hearing expected Tuesday.

Sheriff’s Department investigator Stacy Rollison said the two are suspected in the theft of jewelry valued at about $15,000 reported stolen from a home in the 700 block of Roy Young Road Saturday at about 5:30 p.m.

They also are suspects in a burglary of a home in the 1200 block of Mount Alban Road Sunday at 11 a.m. The residents were home at the time, Pace said.

Reported missing from the Mount Alban home was a PlayStation 3 game system with two controllers valued at $300 and a DVD player valued at $30, Rollison said.

Kirkley and O’Connor were identified as suspects and later located by deputies in a room at the Scottish Inn, 3955 Clay St., where they were arrested Sunday afternoon, said Rollison.

The PlayStation 3 system was recovered in the room with the two, she said.

Kirkley, who was already out on a bond from a previous felony arrest, was charged with residential burglary-home invasion, Rollison said.

O’Connor was charged with residential burglary and being an accessory to burglary-home invasion.
