David Clayton Ivey

David Clayton Ivey died Friday, June 10, 2011. He was 49.

Born in Vicksburg, he was a graduate of Greenville High School and was a former employee of Rocket Inc. of Jackson.

Mr. Ivey was a certified crane inspector, a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and a member of ABATE of Vicksburg. He was a lifelong member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Franklin Ivey III; a brother, Robert Joseph Ivey; his maternal grandparents, George C. and Ossie Lloyd; and his paternal grandparents, Robert Franklin Ivey Jr. and Beatrice Ivey.

He is survived by his wife, Tecia Herrod Ivey of Vicksburg; a son, Matthew Ivey of Smithville; two daughters, Cara Pulliam Hillyard of Lafayette, La., and Allison Ann Kurtz of Vicksburg; his mother, Nancy Lloyd Ivey Parker of Oak Grove, La.; and one sister, Kelly Ivey Wilson of Peachtree City, Ga.

Services will be at 2 today at Bowmar Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry White officiating. A private burial will be directed by Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from noon until the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Newcomb, Dr. Calvin Masterson, Dr. Robert Strong, Lindsey McCullough, Samie Maxie, Roy Ashley, the Vicksburg Oncology staff, Camellia Hospice and members of ABATE.
