James Ellis II

PORT GIBSON — James “Jim” Ellis II died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Patient’s Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 65.
Mr. Ellis attended the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama. He was a photographic illustrator and had worked for the Hattiesburg American, the Orlando Sentinel and The Associated Press.
He was a life member of the Royal Photographic Society, U.K.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Ellis; and a brother, Dr. Brien Thomas Ellis.
He is survived by his mother, Dr. Mary H. Ellis of Port Gibson; two brothers, Dr. George H. Ellis of Jackson and Wilson N. Ellis of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Dr. Mary Anne Raymond of Clemson, S.C.; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at Port Gibson United Methodist Church.
