Kudos to the Corps of Engineers. My wife and I live at Eagle Lake and we would like to thank the Corps for all their hard work and efforts in saving the residents of Eagle Lake. I would especially like to thank Wayland Hill of the Corps, whom I spoke with almost every other day during the time of the rising of Mississippi River.

Amid all the gloom and doom rumors that were running rampant and the sensationalism that was being portrayed by the broadcast media, I could call Mr. Hill and he was very courteous, factual, he explained what was going on with the river, what the Corps was doing and what they expected to happen. Every time I talked to him it gave me peace of mind and made me hopeful and for that we are eternally grateful.
