The engagement of Erin Elizabeth Woerner of Vicksburg to Dereck Scott Romero of Biloxi is announced today. The wedding will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 6, 2011, at Highland Baptist Church. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Woerner is the daughter of Anne Stevens Woerner and Eric Gerard Woerner, both of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Gordon J. Stevens of Vicksburg and Erich Woerner of Signal Mountain, Tenn.

Mr. Romero is the son of Barry and Pam Holley of Necaise Crossing and Gary and Regina Stephen of Biloxi. He is the grandson of Violet Romero of Biloxi.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Porters Chapel Academy 2005. She and the prospective groom both attended the University of Southern Mississippi.
