A Vicksburg man and woman believed to be part of a gang who threatened a man and stole checks from him before cashing some of the checks were in the Warren County Jail this morning, records showed.
Jason Ferguson, 29, 1062 Meadow St., was arrested at 2:50 p.m. and charged with strong armed robbery and possession of counterfeit bank notes, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
An hour later, Keisha Ford, 29, of the same address, was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering a forgery after being accused of writing checks on the robbery victim’s account at Cellular South and AT&T, Stewart said.
The arrests followed a report of a robbery on June 17 in the 1600 block of Meadow Street. The victim told police three men and two women threatened him and took a checkbook.
Some checks were recovered after the arrest, Stewart said.
Ford was being held on a $2,500 bond this morning and Ferguson was being held without bond, pending his initial appearance in court.
Stewart said police are continuing to look for the other suspects.
