Two Vicksburg men were arrested during the weekend on separate warrants from other jurisdictions, police crime analyst Suzan Ebeling said today.
Antonio D. Turner, 33, 1303 Howard St., was arrested in the 1000 block of DeWitt Street Saturday at 12:03 a.m., Ebeling said.
Police responded to an E-911 hangup call and found Turner and another man sitting on the steps at a residence. A records check showed that Turner had an outstanding warrant from Wisconsin. Specific charges against Turner were not indicated, Ebeling said.
He was being held at the police station for Wisconsin authorities, she said.
Eric Dewayne Barnes, 20, 2427 Oak St., Apt. 5, was stopped by police Sunday at 8:05 p.m. for a seat belt violation while driving on Oak Street, Ebeling said.
A records check showed that Barnes was wanted in DeKalb County, Ga., for two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation. Barnes had been indicted by a grand jury. Ebeling said he was being held at the police station for Georgia authorities.
