Services for Darlene Butler Carter will be at noon Saturday at Kings Empowerment Center with the Rev. Dexter Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 47.

Mrs. Carter was a member of Triumphant M.B. Church and worked as a custodian at Beechwood Elementary. She was a graduate of Warren Central High School and Utica Junior College.

She was preceded in death by her father Hubert Butler Sr.; her sister, Cleneva Butler; and her grandparents Eli Starks and Martha Bell Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, Roosevelt Carter of Vicksburg; son, Fredrick Butler of Vicksburg; daughter, Andrea Carter of Vicksburg; mother, Alberta Starks Butler of Vicksburg; brothers Hubert Butler, Jr., James Butler and Charles Butler, all of Vicksburg; sisters, Christine Butler and Ardenia Butler of Vicksburg, Louise Butler of New York City and Irene McKoy of South Carolina; three grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
