Three Vicksburg teenagers are charged with burglary after the back door of a house in the 3100 block of Oak Street was kicked in Thursday morning and the intruders were confronted by two residents, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Stewart said brothers Barry Smith, 19, and Debarrea Smith, 17, both of 121 Lee Circle, and a 15-year-old were arrested at Washington and Johnson streets about an hour after the 10 a.m. break-in.
He said Barry Smith was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond, and Debarrea Smith was being held without bond in the county jail. The juvenile was referred to Warren County Youth Court. Stewart said Debarrea Smith was out on bond at the time of the break-in for the April 4, 2010, armed robbery of an individual in the 1300 block of Washington Street.
Stewart said the Oak Street home’s residents heard the break-in and confronted the intruders, who ran into woods at Oak and Johnson streets.
He said the three were arrested after they emerged from the woods at Washington and Johnson.
