Boeing has built a new manufacturing plant in South Carolina, a right-to-work state. The National Labor Relations Board has declared the expansion illegal because Boeing says one of the reasons for relocation is to avoid future union strikes in Washington, a union state.

In response to questions, President Barack Obama said, “we can’t have labor and industry fighting all the time.” Obviously the proposal is to prevent fighting by making it impossible for industry to resist organized labor.
