Guns, TVs, electronics missing in city

Electronics valued at a total of $2,800 and two handguns valued at $550 were among the items reported stolen in a series of weekend burglaries, according to Vicksburg police.

Police Sgt. Sandra Williams said a leaf blower valued at $200 was reported stolen at about 11:53 a.m. Friday from a shed at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 326 Lovers Lane.

A few hours later, Williams said, a Colt .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun valued at $300 was reported stolen about 4:11 p.m. from a 2008 Honda Accord parked at the New Car Look Detail Shop, 2400 Halls Ferry Road.

Williams said a 47-inch LG flat-screen TV valued at $1,000, a Sony flat-screen valued at $300, a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $500 and a Cobra .380-caliber handgun valued at $250 were reported stolen about 8:40 p.m. Friday from a home in the 100 block of Linda Drive.

Saturday, Williams said, a Kicker amplifier valued at $500 and a speaker box valued at $500 were reported stolen about 10:31 a.m. from a 2002 Ford Explorer.

A Canon camera valued at $350 was reported stolen from a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe parked at the Grand Station Casino downtown at about 9:05 a.m. Sunday, Williams said.
