• Approved sending a letter of support to Mississippi’s delegation in the U.S. House and Senate to extend a HUBZone designation for Warren County.
Parts of the federal program, which stands for Historically Underutilized Businesses, expired June 1 for two areas inside central Vicksburg, according to the Small Business Administration.
Seventeen local businesses qualify for loans and grants under the program, said Christi Kilroy, executive director of the Vicksburg- Warren County Chamber of Commerce, who made the request to the board.
• Authorized invoices totaling $26,259.48 for ABMB Engineers Inc. for fees incurred for special assessment paving in Forest Cove and Fairways subdivisions.
• Approved a $6,659.83 check to Kansas City Southern Railway for review and inspection expenses during the grant-funded replacement of the Haining Road bridge at the Port of Vicksburg. The payment is contingent on funds from the Mississippi Development Authority to pay the bill.
