David Earl King, 66, of Vicksburg died Thursday, July 21, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 tonight with the Rev. Bruce Bryant officiating.

He was a hunter and fisherman. He loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma King of Vicksburg; daughters, Vanessa Lynn Holman, Barbara S. Leach and Candace M. Sullivan, all of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Sue King of Vicksburg; brothers, George Walter King of Paducah, Ky., “Pete” King of Kentucky, Johnny Lee King of Brookhaven, Jimmy King of Saraland, Ala., and James Albert Sanford of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Edward King, and his mother, Veltie Evelyn King.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Leach, George King, Pete King, Johnny King, Dan Boswell and Louis Howell.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Holt and R.C. Quarles.
